  • Position Description

    Serco is looking to fill a Warehouse Manager position in Perry, GA to support the DLA Chemical Management Services Third Party Logistics (3PL) contract. This Warehouse Manager will be responsible for all day-to-day activities within the warehouse and all warehouse staff, both in relation to HAZMAT (HM) management and HAZWASTE (HW) processing. This position will require advanced knowledge of US Air Force and DoD logistics requirements and principles.

    The Warehouse Foreman manages the day-to-day activities within the Serco warehouse facility that will be used to support Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex (WR-ALC) customers. Plans, directs, and assigns duties for personnel assigned to support warehouse and HAZMAT management activities. Coordinates the full life-cycle management of HAZMAT from initial receipt from vendors, to receiving/storing of HAZMAT in proper locations, to regular and spot inventory checks, as well as ensuring the warehouse facility remains in good working order. Will interface with both corporate and subcontract employees to support 3PL activities.

    Oversees all safety and general job training of subordinate warehouse personnel. Ensures the proper use and maintenance of physical equipment and facilities. Maintains records and schedules and also facilitates accurate inventory tracking in partnership with Program Management Office staff. May move materials using hand or power truck, forklift, or other warehouse equipment.

    Performs a variety of tasks, assigned both by Serco Program Manager and 3PL PM as required. Other duties may also be assigned. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Will report to the contract Program Manager.

    Qualifications

    Required:

    Requires a High School Diploma and 5-7 years’ experience managing personnel in an industrial or warehouse setting. Must be able to obtain and maintain a favorable adjudicated background investigation.

     

    Desired:

    Ability to use IT systems for control and management of HM ashore will also be required. Able to conduct accurate inventories and research of HM, along with managing the activities of multiple warehousemen will be required as well.

    Demonstrated knowledge of US Air Force and Department of Defense Hazardous Material Control and Management (HMC&M) processes/procedures, warehousing, handling, and safety procedures, along with HM management software programs such as WebFLIS, HMIRS and FedLog for inventory research is desired.

    Previous experience leading teams of employees in a warehouse/operational setting is desired. Work is generally performed in a mixed warehouse/office environment with varying working conditions. Job assignment will require working at a Serco warehouse facility, with minimal travel being required.

    Technical training/experience in US Air Force Supply procedures and IT systems used in HM management processes including some or all of the following:

    • HM Inventory Management
    • Stock identification and inventory processes
    • IT systems for HM: EESOH-MIS, HMIRS and FedLog
    • HM Minimization Center Operations
