Serco is looking to fill a Quality Control (QC) Specialist position in Perry, GA to support the DLA Chemical Management Services Third Party Logistics (3PL) contract. This QC Specialist will be responsible for ensuring all 3PL contract operations in support of the Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex (WR-ALC) are in line with established US Air Force and Serco policies and procedures. Specific emphasis will be paid on safety/environmental compliance and adherence to established inventory management methodologies. This position will require advanced knowledge of US Air Force logistics requirements and principles.
The QC Specialist manages the day-to-day activities across the contract in partnership with the Warehouse Supervisor and Site Manager to ensure optimal operations and inventory validity, both physical and electronic. The candidate will support database analysts with confirmation of system transactions against customer requests. Quality checks will also be performed across transaction samplings, as well as spot inventories in the warehouse and as HM inventories are received in the warehouse facility in partnership with the designated warehouse employees.
Works both within the Serco warehouse facility for the 3PL operation in Perry, GA and may spend some time performing QA functions at WR-ALC. QC Specialists will maintain records and schedules as dictated by contract deliverables.
Performs a variety of established and ad-hoc tasks, assigned both by Serco Warehouse Supervisor and Site Manager as required. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Will report to the contract Program Manager.
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 5-7 years’ of direct work experience in a QC/QA role. Years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree. Must be able to obtain and maintain a favorable adjudicated background investigation.
Ability to use IT systems for control and management of HM ashore will also be required. Able to conduct accurate inventories and research of HM, along with coordinating the activities of multiple warehousemen will be required as well.
Demonstrated knowledge of US Air Force and Department of Defense Hazardous Material Management processes/procedures, warehousing, handling, and safety procedures, along with HM management software programs such as WebFLIS, HMIRS and FedLog for inventory research is desired.
Previous experience with quality control/assurance along with working with small-to-medium sized teams is desired. Experience with Hazardous Materials control and management is also desired. Work is generally performed in a mixed warehouse/office environment with varying working conditions. Job assignment will require working at overseas client site, with minimal travel being required.
