Serco is looking to fill multiple Warehouse Specialist positions in Perry, GA to support the DLA Chemical Management Services Third Party Logistics (3PL) contract. These Warehouse Specialists will support all day-to-day 3PL activities for the Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex (WR-ALC) 3PL operation, tasked with the physical processing of all HAZMAT requirements assigned by the Serco Warehouse Manager.
Work will be conducted in the primary Serco warehouse facility and will include verifying materials against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages, routing materials to prescribed storage locations; storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods, rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials, examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage, removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment. Follows standard operating procedures for distribution and inventory management to maximize customer satisfaction and minimize cost. May move materials using hand or power truck, forklift, or other warehouse equipment.
Applicant should be familiar with standard HAZMAT concepts, practices, and procedures especially with the proper receiving, storage and handling of all HAZMAT items as well as proper compatibility and shelf-life compliance requirements.
Will report to Serco Warehouse Supervisor. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Position will support the full life-cycle of HAZMAT processing, from receipt/breakdown of manufacturer/distributor deliveries of bulk quantities of HAZMAT, to the picking/processing of HAZMAT orders down to the requested amounts from customer order submissions, to packing/loading of HAZMAT for delivery to WR-ALC. Employee will be applying first-in/first-out issue methodology and the management/tracking of shelf-life and compatibility of all inventory.
Must have a good grasp of the English language. Must be able to obtain and maintain a favorable adjudicated background investigation.
Ability to use hard copy and electronic means to control and manage all HAZMAT in the warehouse facility is required. Must be able to conduct accurate physical inventories and ensure all HAZMAT is properly managed/tracked, along with ensuring proper inventory and issue processes are followed. Demonstrated knowledge of US Air Force HAZMAT processes/procedures, warehousing, handling, and safety procedures, along with HM management software programs such as HMIRS and FedLog for inventory research is desired. Work is generally performed in a warehouse environment with varying working conditions.
Job assignment will require working at Serco warehouse facility, with minimal travel anticipated.
