  • Position Description

    • Responsible for ensuring compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) laws and regulations at all air traffic control facilities. Conducts biennial on-site External Compliance Verification (ECV) audits to ensure compliance with FAA and Serco regulations, policies and procedures. Has the authority to effect corrective actions at facilities and works with Area Managers to resolve problems.  
    • Prepares audit reports detailing facility compliance deficiencies, assists Air Traffic Managers in the development of corrective action plans, tracks deficiencies and corrective actions in a database, and reports monthly to Program Director and Area Managers on the status of compliance across all locations.
    • Responsible for reviewing and approving facility level Letters of Agreement and Standard Operating Procedures, develops new procedures to ensure compliance with changing regulations, and assists Air Traffic Managers with the completion of annual Internal Compliance Verification (ICV) audits.
    • Responsible for Quality Control and Safety portions of post-accident/incident investigations.
    • Provides guidance and instruction to Air Traffic Managers in the evaluation of risks to the National Airspace System and the creation of Safety Risk Management Documents.
    • Develops system-wide policies and procedures for Quality Assurance, Quality Control and Safety.
    • Provides training to new Air Traffic Managers on FAA and Serco regulations, policies and procedures. Assists the Aviation PMO in the development and updating of Serco’s Air Traffic Managers’ Guide.
    • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Leads and directs the work of others.
    • Must have extensive knowledge and experience in all three disciplines of air traffic control: Enroute, Terminal Radar and Tower.
    • Responsible for Aviation Safety Management System.
    • Requires travel up to 30% of the year.

    Qualifications

    • Must have at least 10 years of experience as a professional Air Traffic Control Specialist and Air Traffic Manager.
    • Must have 5-7 years Quality Assurance experience. 
    • Must have Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
    • Must have experience in Safety Risk Management.
    • Must be certified, or be able to be certified quickly, as an FAA Safety Risk Management Panel Facilitator.
    • Must be proficient in MS Office Suite (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel).
    • Must have excellent organizational skills.
