    The Security Administrator will assist in overseeing the administrative security operations at Serco’s San Diego facility. Responsible for administrative security processes such as security clearances, program accesses and visit requests; as well as contract documentation related to security and program security activities. The position may also support SCI and safeguarding efforts as required. Security Administrator must be able to interpret and apply the relevant publications against existing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable government requirements and regulations. As a Security Administrator, the person must demonstrate that they are a self-starter with meticulous attention to detail.

    The Security Administrator will support Serco employees and our customers in multiple disciplines of security for the employees and our customers. This position will; 1) Enforce, monitor and comply with the policies and procedures as established within the organization’s procedures, National Industrial Security Operating Manual (NISPOM), and other government regulations as applicable. 2) Will assist in the development of internal company policies including the security awareness program to ensure personnel are current on the latest procedures; 3) Assist in preparing and submitting facility documentation to appropriate Government organizations to maintain facility clearances; 4) Preparing and submitting employee visit requests to support classified visits; 5) Assisting personnel in completing and updating documentation needed to obtain security clearances and public trust positions by submitting required documentation to DSS and appropriate agencies according to the DD 254; 6) Supports the Corporate Office as a Security Administrator in providing security-related support as required; 7) Provides other comparable duties as assigned to maintain an efficient operation in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment.

    Additional responsibilities include:

    - Provides consultation to government supervisory personnel as it relates to security policies and procedures and assist the employees in the process established

    - Interfacing with facility and base level managers to provide education, direction and guidance with regard to security issues, questions or concerns; and providing support during formal security inspections and completing an internal review/self-inspection at periodic schedules between government oversight reviews

    - Assists with the development of and revision of security plans, procedures and instructions as necessary in conjunction with the supported personnel

    - Presents security education and awareness, security briefings, and additional training as required

    - May investigate security incidents and/or violations and assist in preparation of applicable reports

    - Collects, analyzes and identifies the trends and potential causes of security-related incidents

    - Provides prime/subcontractor security support and direction including the development and maintenance of DD254s



    Must have some knowledge of security processes with preferred emphasis in personnel security actions. Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Access, Word, Excel, (JPAS, E-QIP, NISS, and the personnel security process a plus.) Two years’ experience in database development and or management, and structure population update is highly desirable. Ability to troubleshoot problems and be solution oriented and the ability to use standard office systems to include a desktop computer, printers, fax, scanner, copier, binding machine, and shredder is required. Strong written and oral communications skills are highly desirable. Great patience, arbitration skills, and flexibility with all level of customers and employees a must. Ability to work out divergent view problems in a team setting a must. Requires a High School diploma or equivalent, and two years’ experience. Government Security Clearance will be required to begin employment.  

    Bachelor's degree and must be able to maintain a Secret level government security clearance. 

    Must hold an active DOD Secret security clearance at time of interview.

    Must possess working knowledge of Navy Visit Request process for ship visits in addition to Navy CAC process experience.
