    Purpose of the Job:

    • Conduct HVAC and refrigeration system work activities required to operate, install, service, repair or replace systems, components, controls, and related appliances.
    • Ensure compliance with all Serco Canada Inc. policies and procedures, including but not limited to Code of Conduct and Ethics, Drug & Alcohol Policy, Serco Management System, etc.

    Position Overview:

    • Read and interpret specifications, scopes, sketches or drawings to determine the layout of heating and ventilation system requirements.
    • Preparation of cost estimates for clients.
    • Ensure all work on Halocarbon containing equipment is compliant with the Federal Halocarbon Regulations (FHR).
    • Responsible for the maintenance of self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) compressors.
    • Assist other technicians/ staff in the operation, maintenance and repair of building HVAC systems, and related controls.
    • Document all information concerning the work performed, labour and materials used to complete assigned work.
    • Train HVAC/Refrigeration apprentices up to Journeyperson standard and endorse appropriate documentation.
    • Be available for on call standby duty after hours and weekends as required, according to regularly posted schedule.
    • Required to operate light duty vehicles, and other equipment necessary in the performance of assigned duties.
    • Other related duties relevant to this position as may be required.
    • Reporting to Mechanical Supervisor WSE, Steam HVAC.

    **Hourly pay rate is CAD $37.86**



    • Valid NL Journeyperson certificate in HVAC/Refrigeration Technician is required, however apprentices will also receive consideration.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain Secret Level II security clearance is required.
    • Possession of or the ability to obtain an Ozone Depleting Substance Certificate.
    • Possession of or the ability to obtain and maintain a Ramp Defensive Driving Course (DND/RDDC) certification to operate vehicles on the airfield is required.
    • Possession of a valid Class 5 NL Driver’s license.
    • Apprentices will be considered at an appropriate percentage of journeyperson rate.
