  • Position Description

    • Review and analyze Patent Applications and, based on the US and International patent classification structures, determine a likely patent classification and a series of sub classifications.
    • Essential Duties and Responsibilities may include analysis, research and complex processing operations requiring meticulous attention to detail, and utilization of automated systems to conduct research and collaborate among other classifiers.
    • Performs a variety of tasks requiring technical knowledge, organizational skills and judgment to meet program goals, performance metrics and quality standards.
    • Works under supervision.
    • Reports to a manager.



    • Education: A Bachelor of Science in Industrial chemistry and Chemical Engineering or equivalent mix of education and experience.
    • Experience: A minimum of 0 – 2 years’ work experience in a related field or related civilian/military training in addition to the above education requirement would be highly beneficial to this position.
    • Travel: Some travel may be required
    • Security Clearance: Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
    • This position supports a U.S. Government Contract whose terms require Serco to staff it only with U.S. Citizens.
