Knowledge of biology principles, theories, and established methodologies sufficient to perform/manage the full range of duties involved in conducting biological projects in the laboratory (toxicity testing, sample analysis, and microbiological testing) and field (sample collection and in-situ aquatic toxicity and water chemistry testing). Requires excellent written and verbal communications skills, the ability to think critically, and the ability to mentor and provide supervision to less experienced biologists.
Requires a Ph.D. in biology, wildlife, natural resources, or a related scientific discipline and 2 years of experience; a Master’s degree and 6 years of experience; or a Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of directly related experience.
direct experience with a variety of biology concepts, practices, and procedures including field surveys, water quality assessments, species specific and general surveys, mitigration monitoring.
Wetland delineation, report writing, permit applications, plant community mapping, sediment control assessments and monitoring, and database management.
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
