JOIN OUR TEAM to assist and prepare over 200,000 Servicemen and women who separate annually from the United States Military begin a new life chapter as a civilian. Many of those who separate from the military have transition plans while others find becoming a civilian a daunting task. The Department of Labor (DOL) Veterans’ Employment and Training Service (VETS) program requires contractor services to support these transitioning Servicemen and women through its highly successful Transition Assistance Program (TAP) that is offered world-wide to conduct job assistance workshops, employment counseling, apprenticeship program placements and employer outreach.
The DOL VETS TAP program is in need of energetic and talented State Veterans Apprenticeship Coordinators who have a passion for overseeing the connection of transitioning Servicemembers with apprenticeship opportunities in one (1) or multiple states. The ideal State Veterans Apprenticeship Coordinator candidate will be knowledgeable with State programs regarding apprenticeships, experience conducting outreach activities with companies offering apprenticeships and skilled at setting up industry partnerships that lead to matching transitioning Servicemembers and their Spouses with suitable programs. The ideal Candidate will assist Transitioning Servicemembers and Spouses to identify, evaluate, and choose various apprenticeship opportunities while also providing information about benefits and entitlements available. Additional duties may include conducting group instruction and individual counseling regarding the availability of various apprenticeship programs, and assessing the transitioning Military Servicemembers personality and interests to matching apprenticeship opportunities.
