  • Position Description

    The Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP) Ashore Program’s mission is to design, procure, integrate, install and sustain the systems/equipment hardware, associated firmware, and software required to provide the ability to protect mission-critical assets and personnel from natural disasters, acts of terrorism and other human-caused disasters. The NAVFAC AT/FP Ashore Sustainment Program is executed by the NAVFAC AT/FP Ashore Program Management Office (PMO), NAVFAC Expeditionary Warfare Center (EXWC) and NAVFAC regional Facilities Engineering Commands (FECs). The primary goal of the NAVFAC AT/FP Ashore Sustainment Program is to provide both preventive and corrective maintenance services to Navy installations as required to sustain NAVFAC AT/FP Ashore Program Systems in accordance with their operational requirements. In support of this effort the Systems Administrator II will be responsible for any of the below listed activities. This position is based out of Jacksonville, Florida and will require up to 10% travel.

     

    • Install new software releases and system upgrades
    • Evaluate and install patches and resolve software related problems
    • Perform system backups and recovery
    • Maintain data files and monitor system configuration to ensure data integrity
    • Provide critical preventive and corrective maintenance, information assurance, asset management, technical systems updates, service call resolution, and configuration management for C4I systems worldwide
    • Provide Operation and Maintenance support including patch management/testing, STIG implementation and mitigation, information assurance/security, anti-virus, and data backup solutions

    Provide system administration and engineering support for Windows Server 2008/2012/2016

    Qualifications

    • Possess a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related to the position duties and requirements.
    • Possess the following certification: Security +, Windows Operating System and Windows Server, and VMWare.
    • 5+ years of experience in the field or another area as related to the position duties and requirements.
    • Experience in the administration of Window’s Active Directory infrastructure to include Group Policy Object management experience, VMware ESXi server, data base solutions to include Microsoft SQL and Oracle databases.
    • Strong understanding of current Microsoft supported Windows operating systems.
    • Familiarity with DoD networking and security accreditation requirements.
    • Familiarity with HBSS, eMASS, ACAS, SCAP, VRAM, DIACAP/RMF (preferable).
    • Ability to multi-task and teach or assist others to resolve Systems related issues.
    • Ability to create Standard Operating Procedure documentation for designs and implementation strategies of new hardware and software deployments.
    • Ability to produce system specifications, design requirements, test evaluation planning documents, and technical publications and reports.
    • Ability to support project at client sites where working conditions may vary.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Willingness to take ownership of problems and see thru to resolution.
    • Effective interpersonal and written communication skills.
    • Must have a current DoD Secret level clearance.
    • Ability to travel up to 10%.
