JOIN OUR TEAM to assist and prepare over 200,000 Servicemen and women who separate annually from the United States Military begin a new life chapter as a civilian. Many of those who separate from the military have transition plans while others find becoming a civilian a daunting task. The Department of Labor (DOL) Veterans’ Employment and Training Service (VETS) program requires contractor services to support these transitioning Servicemen and women through its highly successful Transition Assistance Program (TAP) that is offered world-wide to conduct job assistance workshops, employment counseling, apprenticeship program placements and employer outreach.
The DOL VETS TAP program is in need of gifted and talented Strategic Communications Lead who has experience integrating program goals and activities into precise messaging, increasing awareness amongst the Transitioning Servicemebers (TSM), Spouses and stakeholders. Ability to identify the appropriate events, activities, channels and communication platforms of effectively branding the VETS TAP amongst its audience, to increase partnerships and TSM awareness of services. Experience researching, developing, planning, designing, and maintaining policies and materials for the purpose of conveying messages to the VETS TAP audience. Ability to write, edit, review, and oversee release of internal and external communication documentation, such as the intranet, newsletters, emails/memos, webcasts, presentations and speeches. Ability to assist with the development, improvement, and/or implementation of new and existing communication avenues. Requires moderate skill sets and developing proficiency within discipline. Conducts tasks and assignments as directed. Works under moderate supervision with some latitude for independent judgment.
