Position Description

This position will help NAVSEA PMS 443 establish and operate the Navy Ship Sustainment War Room, with the objective of improving U.S. Navy ship readiness across the fleet. In this role, you will work directly with senior government personnel to manage all efforts associated with the task. The war room technique is a disciplined process for attacking a complex problem, with the objectives of properly identifying the problem(s) to be solved, generating a logical approach to the problem, visually displaying that approach, and collectively brainstorming with all concerned to develop executable solutions.

  • Conduct analytical studies of U.S. Navy ship sustainment initiatives.
  • Follows established modeling and evaluation processes to determine the effectiveness of current operational activities and to determine problem areas and develop solutions.
  • Interact with senior leadership to develop best practices and policy for PMS 443 sustainment intiatives.
  • Play a key role in implementing projects and programs associated with PMS 443 sustainment efforts.
  • Develop graphics, briefing materials, written reports and correspondance as necessary.
  • Provide briefing and meeting support as required.
  • Serve as liason for SEA 21 and PMS 443 senior leadership with other sustainment stakeholders such as, OPNAV, NAVSEA Warfare Centers, Regional Maintenance Centers, TYCOM, and SEA 05.


  • Secret Clearance is Required
  • 8-10 years of U.S. Navy shipboard experience is required.
    • Ideal candidate is retired Surface Warfare Officer with staff experience.
  • Familiarity with U.S. Navy shipboard readiness and sustainment issues is highly desired.
  • Experience communicating with senior military and executive level staff is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Experience in development of graphics are highly desired.
