Position Description

Are you looking for an opportunity to be a key player in Navy’s surface ship readiness? At Serco, we are looking for the brightest, most innovative, and driven with an appetite for wrestling complex problems.

In this role, you will manage identification and promote resolution of Fleet concerns as the Class Management Team (CMT) lead for the Readiness Office.

This position has a direct impact on the effectiveness of Ships and Sailors, provides daily support to the Customer as the CMT lead, and coordinates CMT support across all non-nuclear surface ships, with these representative duties:

  • Lead the establishment and maintenance of standardized CMT processes and products.
  • Collaborate with Class Readiness Managers and other stakeholders regarding CMT technical, logistics, and other fleet technical issues and coordinate resolution of these issues.
  • Determine data collection methods for research projects and experiments.
  • Extract operational data, conduct research and conducting analysis, and present analysis up the Chain of Command, including the Flag level.
  • Provide guidance and recommendations to the Customer.
  • Coordinate and participate in working groups, program development forums, analytical activities, readiness IPT, and other forums as required to accomplish contract requirements.
  • Assure quality standards are met and assure quality control throughout all contract activities.
  • Comply with security procedures and requirements.
  • Perform multi-faceted assignments requiring the analysis of complex systems and projects.
  • Utilize effective concepts and principles in the performance of a variety of projects, and work directly with customers and team members to define problems, engage stakeholders, and drive solutions.
  • Perform staff work, focused on impactful solutions.

Qualifications

Mandatory Qualifications

  • Active DoD SECRET Clearance or higher is required to apply for this position.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline.
    • In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for comparable work experience.
  • 8 to 10 years of experience.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills.
  • Experience providing staff work in support of DoD leadership.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of applications.
  • Experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis (particularly MS Excel and PowerPoint).

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience onboarding or maintaining Navy ships. Former enlisted or junior officers with engineering experience are encouraged to apply, as are former government service/contractors with Navy shipboard maintenance and modernization experience.
  • Familiarity with Navy IT systems such as NDE and NMCI.
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office suite of tools (notably Excel and PowerPoint).
