Position Description

JOIN OUR TEAM to assist and prepare over 200,000 Servicemen and women who separate annually from the United States Military begin a new life chapter as a civilian.  Many of those who separate from the military have transition plans while others find becoming a civilian a daunting task.  The Department of Labor (DOL) Veterans’ Employment and Training Service (VETS) program requires contractor services to support these transitioning Servicemen and women through its highly successful Transition Assistance Program (TAP) that is offered world-wide to conduct job assistance workshops, employment counseling, apprenticeship program placements and employer outreach. 

 

 The Master Trainer will provide training for DOL VETS Facilitators and Site Leads who are responsible for providing Transitioning Service Members (Active, Reserve, National Guard), family members, and Veterans a comprehensive understanding of preparing for civilian employment, job searching, job application processes, networking, technical training opportunities, credentialing, and assistance in preparing for civilian employment and participation in technical programs and schools.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Design, develop and conduct training programs to improve the effectiveness of training of Facilitators and Trainers.
  • Assist with initial plan/curriculum design and existing plan/curriculum enhancements.
  • Observe staff performance and answer training inquiries from staff and supporting efforts of the Program Management Office and the Government customer.
  • Will travel, as required.
  • Supervise Training and Development Specialists or other staff.
  • Lead a team through program reviews and end-to-end curriculum and training design, development and delivery in addition to generating reports, assessments, and surveys.

Qualifications

To be successful in this roll, you will have:

  • Previous experience which demonstrates an understanding of private and public sector employment processes.
  • Experience as a classroom instructor.
  • Experience with video conferencing applications, such as Zoom, Webex, MS Teams.

Additional desired experience and skills:

  • Requires Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from an accredited college or university or at least two (2) years of experience as a professional trainer or facilitator and three (3) to five (5) years of related experience.
