Position Description

If you have  experience in military logistics support you; may join our  Maritime Engineering, Technology and Sustainment (METS) team supporting Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (UUV) operations providing primary support to Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) in San Diego, CA. This position performs data management, shipping & receiving, inventory control and supply maintenance supporting a broad portfolio of Autonomous Maritime System (AMS) programs onboard a fast growing local team.

 

This position is contingent upon your ability to maintain your active Secret clearance.

 

Primarily supporting NIWC Pacific, you will provide Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and in-service engineering support on a broad portfolio of programs for the accelerated acquisition and fielding of Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) Response Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs).   You will perform logistics support of equipment and labs for various underwater, unmanned technology development for underwater mine countermeasures requiring research, analysis, engineering development, and test and evaluation support.

You will work with a systems engineer, senior technician, and engineering support, including software development, for system development, man and machine interface development, test and evaluation, requirements capture, production, maintenance, and system support under Unmanned and Small Combatants Office PEO USC in conjunction with NIWC Pacific, NSWC PCD, and other DoD Program

 

In this role, you will:

  • Provide lifecycle Support including technical refresh and configuration management of hardware or soft
  • Provide system supportability and sustainment analysis
  • Spares management and analysis to address supply support for the system during its lifetime. This includes determining requirements to acquire, receive store, transfer, and issue all necessary parts, components, and subsystems on an as-needed basis supporting operational level requirements.
  • Receive inbound materials and updates Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) databases containing tracking information to include pricing and part numbers.
  • Populate required DoD documentation for shipping & receiving activities.
  • Coordinate with procurements and acquisition analyst team for inbound shipment planning.
  • Facilitate final delivery to end user customers at NSWC PCD facilities.
  • Prepare related reports and documentation per NSWC PCD customer request.
  • Responsible for managing an offsite warehouse and tracking movement of inventory.
  • Verify shipping records on incoming and outgoing shipments with bills, invoices, or other records.
  • Verify materials received are as ordered in relation to quantity and part number.
  • Prepare all necessary shipment documentation, such as: Bill of Ladings, Pallet Labels, and Packing Lists.
  • Collect data metrics for order dates, lead time, and delivery.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in an applicable field and a minimum of 2 years of Integrated Logistics Support experience. Equivalency experience will be considered for more than 4 years of directly related experience.
  • An active Secret Clearance
  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs. on occassion.
  • Knowledge of the practices, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements involved in Navy logistics is required.

Additional desired experience and skills:

  • Experience with NIWC PAC, PMS 406, 495, 408, or similar Naval engineering environment including R&D personnel, engineers, scientists, technicians, and maritime ship maintenance and equipment. 
  • Experience with Undersea Unmanned Vehicles (UUV) platform development, maintenance and lifecycle support, EOD, UXO, etc.
  • Knowledge of all types of autonomous maritime systems (USVs/ROVs/AUVs)
  • Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Operator’s License, U.S. Navy
  • Active TS/SCI clearance or eligibility.
  • Able to obtain HAZMAT materials certification.
