Position Description

Serco is seeking a Technical Trainer  to participate in the development, testing, maintenance and delivery of training and educational programs and related materials in support of complex products and/or procedures for a major area or customer.

Other duties may include:

  • Conducts training sessions and assists in evaluating the effectiveness of training activities.
  • Assists with updating course documentation on a continuous basis to ensure timeliness and relevance.
  • May work with engineering, technical support and manufacturing to ensure that course material reflects current product features.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Works under general supervision
  • This role can be located in the following locations: San Diego, CA
  • Some travel to US Navy training locations within the United States and OCONUS

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree preferred or High School Diploma and two (2) years of experience with the required system or process as either a maintenance technician or operator with responsibility for teaching the applicable system or function task to others in an apprentice level training environment.
  • Other specialized Navy skills will be considered in place of a degree
  • Must possess a Secret clearance
  • Must have at least 2 years' experience in the following: NOVA/NIXT
  • One (1) year experience as an instructor in a Navy Training Environment, to include curriculum maintenance, writing learning objectives, preparing test items, evaluating instructional materials and the results of instruction and counseling students on academic learning problems preferred.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
