CMM Operator / Programmer-Inspector - Ludlow MA

In the role of CMM Operator / Programmer-Inspector you will perform quality dimensional and visual inspection and testing of precision machined components by programming and operating CMM equipment in conjunction with using various measuring devices to ensure compliance with engineering specifications.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Create programs and operate CMM equipment (includes FARO Arm) to inspect parts per engineering specifications.
  • Verify conformance of high complexity products using various inspection instruments (micrometers, optical comparators, thread gages, dial indicators, hardness tester, multimeter, and cylindrical plug gages).
  • Read and interpret production travelers and engineering specifications to ensure product conformance at each manufacturing product sequence.
  • Document part characteristics and measurements.
  • Record data from inspection files and maintain accurate and legible inspection records.
  • Attend meetings and provide requested information, as requested.
  • Maintain safety and quality standards using acceptable housekeeping practices
  • Recommend/design inspection fixtures or gages for production purposes.
  • Other occasional work assignments not mentioned may also be required.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • High School diploma and 2-5 years of related experience.
  • CMM experience, including programming on multi-sensing CMMs (Vision, Laser, Touch Probe, etc.)
  • Proficient in GD&T
  • Ability to assist with designing/developing quality gauging to improve efficiencies

Desired Skills:

  • ISO 9001 / AS9100 experience
  • Able to create CMM programs
  • 2+ years’ experience operating a FARO arm

Soft Skills:

  • Team player
  • Results oriented active problem solver
  • Self-starter - works with minimal supervision
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
