Position Description

Navy Acquisition/Logistics Analyst

 

Serco has a great opportunity for you to take an advancing role in supporting U.S. Navy acquisition programs for highly technical systems for our ships and sailors. Join an integrated government-industry team in and around the historic Washington Navy Yard right by Nationals Stadium, but primarily remote during this time of max telework. Serco will provide support in the area of logistics management to its customer, a defense acquisition program management office which is responsible for the development, acquisition, production, fielding, and lifetime support of critical surface ship systems. This mid-level position will have aspects of program management, defense acquisition logistics management, performance-based logistics, configuration management, government-furnished material management, training support, and related skills across all aspects of integrated logistics support.

 

In this role you will:

  • Function as CAC2S Afloat Program Analyst. (Amphibious In-Service Modernization, New Construction Ship, CAC2)
  • Assist with engineering of the incremental upgrades of CAC2S Afloat with the USMC Aviation Command and Control Sensor Netting (AC2SN) Program Office.
  • Coordinates development/maintenance/tracking of all Testing (Plans, Procedures, and Reports) and Certification (EQT, EMI, Link, etc.) related documentation for CAC2S Afloat.
  • Facilitates communication between engaged parties for all CAC2S Afloat related test and certification planning and events.
  • Provides planning support, project management support, risk assessment, fielding recommendations and test/certification coordination for CAC2S Afloat.
  • Be knowledgeable in the defense acquisition process and areas related to integrated logistics support and best practices including Performance-Based Logistics and be able to apply that knowledge to real programs.
  • Be familiar with new acquisition practices such as rapid acquisition, DEV/SEC/OPS, and use of collaboration tools and how these advances impact integrated logistics support in a program management office.
  • Support program office tasking related to providing logistics support to Naval systems. Work will require collaboration with staff from the program office, other contractors, system developer/manufacturer, and government field activities.
  • Help to manage schedules and plans of action related to logistics support. Support the government and contractor team in the execution of program reviews, management of budgets, and coordination with logistics support organizations on behalf of the program office.
  • Support government managers in ILS and management activities related to development, production, and support of Navy systems. Assist in team management of projects, tracking progress against schedules, coordinating accomplishment of actions, coordinating the development of proposed solutions to issues, supporting meetings, and providing analysis of logistics support processes and progress on behalf of the government program management office.
  • Provide guidance to less experienced team members and work as a team to most-effectively accomplishing program office tasking.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Navy shipboard experience.
  • Knowledge of Common Aviation Command and Control System Afloat (CAC2S).
  • Knowledge of Supporting Arms Coordination Center - Automated (SAAC-A) or Navy C4I Systems.
  • Knowledge of integrated logistic support elements, principles, and practices in an acquisition program office context.
  • Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of related experience.
  • Well-developed team communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite programs, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Secret Security Clearance Required

Additional desired experience and skills:

  • It is not expected that you will have experience in all the responsibilities listed above at time of hire but will have a background that supports quickly taking on some or all of these roles under the guidance of a more experienced team member.
  • Work experience may be adjusted based on an advanced degree. Degree requirements may be adjusted based on additional related experience, highly specialized knowledge, or uniquely applicable experience.
  • Experience in collaboration tools such as SharePoint or Teams is desired.
  • Experience in one or more logistics support areas such as configuration management, training support, manpower support, property/GFE management, Performance Based Logistics, supportability, maintenance management, technical data/documentation, supply support/supply chain management, transportation, etc. is desired.
