Position Description

Scrum Master

 

 

Serco-NA is actively seeking a motivated individual to act as a Scrum Master in support of the United States Air Force Civil Engineering NexGen project. In this role, you will work with our dynamic NexGen team at Maxwell-Gunter Air Force Base to support critical Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) activities for the Air Force customer. You will play a critical role in ensuring the successful systems engineering analysis, design, support, and deployment actions to the Air Force CE community across more than 180 bases worldwide.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Work with the Product Owner to develop User Stories to meet the Feature acceptance criteria
  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies for up to 3 scrum teams
  • Collect and share team metrics with the team, suggest new metrics, and drive improvement using metrics
  • Coach the team on agile and scrum principles with the goal of continuous improvement
  • Promote teamwork to achieve sprint goals
  • Lead the team towards agile maturity
  • Protect the team from scope creep and impediments

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:  

  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance and U.S. citizenship
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline with at least 4 years of experience in an Agile setting or equivalent years of experience in lieu of the 4-year degree related to the Job Description listed above.
  • One or more of the following Scrum certifications PSM, CSM, or SAFe 5 SSM
  • Have experience in Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)
  • At least 2 years serving in the role of Scrum Master on a software project (remote teams)
  • Interest in assisting a large, fast paced project in their transition to Agile and scrum
  • Ability to be a team player at all times, respect opinions of others and be willing to share information with teammates
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) to deal effectively, comfortably, and confidently with people at all levels of responsibilities, authority, and rank
  • Have excellent interpersonal and administrative skills and demonstrate the ability to work with minimal supervision

Additional desired experience and skills:

  • Knowledge of Air Force CE Community.
  • Experience working with federal government programs, particularly DoD
  • Familiarity with SAFe 5.0 or experience in scrum in a big organization environment
