Navy Financial Analyst


If you love high-profile and challenging programing projects supporting the US Navy- Serco has a great opportunity for you!  The Navy Financial Analyst will support a US Navy shipbuilding program office in Alexandria, Virginia by monitoring and analyzing multiple lines of accounting looking for efficiencies in acquiring goods and services needed for US Navy ships.  Bring your expertise and collaborative skills to make an impact towards our military defense and safety of our sailors.


The successful candidate will be integrated into the ILS Director support team for PMS 400D and resolving billion-dollar acquisition and programmatic issues impacting US Navy ships under construction and fleet assets


In this role, you will:


  • Input, report and track multiple lines of accounting related to the construction of Navy ships.
  • Develop and maintain spreadsheet tools to track financial information.
  • Review reports and information submitted by the ship builder, ensure it is in proper format and provide comments to Navy reviewer.
  • Assist in identification and resolution of financial discrepancies.
  • Provide information and assist with developing reports for the program.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and potential problems to the Program.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.



To be successful in this role, you will have:


  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, financial or related field.
  • Two plus years' experience in supporting acquisition/financial analysis.
  • Experience working on Navy ACAT I programs.
  • Experience preparing and briefing senior leadership.
  • Familiarity with DoD 5000 processes.
  • Experience with Navy-ERP financial application.
  • Experience using finance accounting methods to track and report on lines of accounting.
  • Expertise with MS Excel.
  • Have an active or current DoD security clearance, or the ability to obtain one.   Preference will be given to those that already have a security clearance.

        Additional desired experience or skills:

  • Preferred DAWAII BFM Level III certification and experience in Navy ERP system.
