Position Description

Serco’s Maritime Engineering, Technology and Sustainment (METS) business unit employs a team of U.S. Navy Combat System experts based out of our Port Hueneme, CA location. Our goal is to provide our sailors with access to cutting edge technology by providing material and installation logistics services in support our nation’s most advanced combat systems.


This position is contingent upon your ability to obtain, maintain, and transfer your Secret level clearance post-employment. 


In this role, your will:

  • Update and maintain spreadsheets containing tracking information. Prepares related reports and presentation materials for meetings with the customer. Work with vendors to ensure appropriate levels of inventory are maintained according to a production schedule. Completes paperwork to order additional equipment according to production plans. Find and establish vendors, obtain quotations and execute procurements.
  • Verifiy shipping records on incoming and outgoing shipments with bills, invoices, or other records. Verifiy materials received are as ordered. Prepare all necessary shipment documentation, such as: Bill of Ladings, Pallet Labels, and Packing Lists, etc.
  • Create and update new technical documentation in accordance with engineering, scheduling or logistics management and subject matter expert direction using Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Powerpoint and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.


To be succsessful in this role,  you will have:

  • High School Diploma
  • 2-4 years of related experience 
  • Secret level clearance post-employment. 

  • Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market survey data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of the practices, policies, procedures and regulatory requirements involved in logistics.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. on occasion.

Preferred Requirement :

  • Associate's Degree in a related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience.
  • At least 5 years related experience. In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for comparable work experience.
