Serco supports the US Air Force as a sub for their DMAPS TAA - PowerBuilder Migration contract which is looking for a Full Stack Java Developer to participate in the full Agile application development life cycle for new development design and testing of Java Web Applications, using Java Spring Boot, RESTful API, PostgreSQL, Apache Camel, Kafka, Angular, Hibernate, PostgreSQL, etc.


You will be part of a team comprised of government and contractors that work closely with other Serco team members to deliver quality support. Our team has been recognized by the US Air Force Program as providing top quality services in support of the customers.


In this role, you will:

  • Work collaboratively as a full stack developer on Agile teams and can complete user stories and develop usable code independently with minimal oversight and guidance.
  • Develop and manage development tasks in a fully automated CI/CD pipeline using tools such as Jenkins and Puppet.
  • Perform development using Agile Scrum.
  • Contribute to an atmosphere of cross-functional teamwork within the organization; contributes to acceptance/functional testing duties and part of incremental feature development.
  • Adhere to, promotes, and maintain development standards and best practices, participates in regular code reviews.
  • Assist development/test teams in activities with acceptance testing, load testing, troubleshooting, and performance tuning as required.
  • Communicate committed stories for the upcoming sprint to backlog owners and stakeholders.


** Position is 100% remote & contingent on Prime Contractor approval **


To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Ability to obtain a NACI
  • Experience with Java and React
  • 3 years' of progressive Java development experience.
  • 2+ years of Agile experience.
  • Ability to Travel up to 10%

Additional desired experience and skills:

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related field
  • Experience with Agile software development practices, developing RESTful microservices
  • Jira, Confluence, and Git or Git-based tools (e.g., Bitbucket).
  • CSM or related Agile practitioner certification and/or SAFe Agile (strongly preferred).
  • AWS and Azure development experience preferred.
  • Jenkins, Puppet, Groovy Scripts, and Terraform experience preferred.
  • Experience converting PowerBuilder programs to Java a plus
