Position Description

If you love engaging in growing business and closing existing opportunities, then Serco has an amazing opportunity for you.  Serco is hiring a Business Development Director to be assigned to lead the Huntsville Market business growth and is accountable for market corporate relationships.  This position will be located in the Huntsville, AL area with touch points in Colorado Springs, CO and the DC Area.

 

Serco supports the with Department of Defense (DoD) and Federal customers such as; Missile Defense Agency, Army PEOs, AvMC, Army Space and Missile Defense Command among other agencies, with growing new business in targeted markets.

In this role, you will: 

  • Identify and develop opportunities for business expansion and close on existing opportunities already in the pursuit pipeline in our growing business.
  • Build relationships and foster business within our capability areas (e.g. Cybersecurity, Software Development, IT Management, C2BMC, etc) with DoD and Federal customers such as; Missile Defense Agency, Army PEOs, AvMC, Army Space and Missile Defense Command as well as industry partners among others
  • Conduct opportunity research and qualification, leads capture and pre-proposal activities and arranges / coordinates business development meetings supported by Corporate Leadership
  • Responsible for development and implementation of an integrated action/contact plan based upon capture analysis. This includes aiding in all required pursuit planning and ensuring opportunities are accurately reflected in the pipeline management system
  • Support and informs proposal reviews, leads proposal solutioning, supports pricing analysis, and coordinates with Technical Subject Matter Experts to develop proposal strategies and technical content
  • Lead win theme development, develops and maintains a detailed capture plan and provides capture status  updates at capture reviews
  • Effectively interacting with colleagues and exectuives in a collaborative environment

 

Qualifications

To be successful in the role, you must have:

  • An active DoD Secret clearance
  • A Bachelors degree (experience in lieu of degree can be substitute)
  • 10 years government contracting experience
  • Extensive experience growing and fostering business in the Huntsville, Alabama market
  • Defense acquisition experience
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • The ability to travel up to 10%

Desired skills and qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree
  • 3 years executing Army, MDA or other federal agency business development activities in the Huntsville area
  • Experience developing and managing a $200-400M pipeline
  • Experience developing complex teaming arrangements
