Serco’s Training and Experience Program (STEP) is designed to provide undergraduate university and college students paid accredited internship opportunities to gain meaningful, hands-on work experience in a professional environment. Our goal is to help you build a career roadmap that provides you with challenging and rewarding learning experiences with Serco.
Serco offers internship opportunities across the following three career tracks: Business, Technical, and Engineering. Our 2023 internship opportunities are available throughout the U.S. and Canada, beginning on May 22nd and concluding on August 11th, with 1 week off July 3rd-7th. You will work with your manager to identify the best working schedule for you, working no more than an average of 36 hours a week with the added perk of half-days on Fridays.
In addition to gaining hands-on experience, you will attend training sessions taught by skilled leaders in our company to better prepare you for a full-time career. Furthermore, we believe great ideas come from all levels of the company! Each year we challenge our interns to work in diverse teams to develop, propose and execute on a project that improves our ways of working. Throughout this project you will work with Senior Sponsors and meet with members of our Executive Team.

Serco Inc., has a highly engaged desktop technical team supporting our over 9000 employees using cutting edge technologies. This Help Desk Support role will be based at our Herndon, VA Headquarters location and will provide IT assistance and technical support to the Executive VIP Team. This position will support and maintain organizational computer systems, desktops, and peripherals; that includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all organizational hardware and equipment while ensuring optimal workstation performance. This role will troubleshoot problem areas (in person, by telephone, or via work order) in a timely and accurate fashion and provide end-user assistance where required.
As the IT Helpdesk Support II Intern, you will provide support to end users on a variety of issues. Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems. Responds to telephone calls, email and personnel requests for technical support.
Over the course of the summer, you will network and interface with our IT department staff along with working side by side with the Information Technology Field Service (ITFS) Team members. You will report to David Clinton who leads this team ITFS initiative with 20 years of service with Serco in conjunction with extensive IT background experience.
