Position Description

Are you looking for a rewarding role with a global company, where you can learn and be part of a highly technical group of professionals supporting the defense of our nation? As a part of Team Submarine, located in Washington, D.C., you will be expected to bring your curiosity, drive, and collaborative skills to make a positive impact supporting our military and the safety of our Sailors.

Serco supports the US Navy for their Team Submarine contract in the maintenance, sustainment, and disposal of in-service submarines. The Team Submarine concept unifies diverse submarine-related activities into a single submarine-centric organization with the goal of eliminating traditional stovepipe structures and processes in the submarine research, development, acquisition, and maintenance communities. Team Submarine provides improved communication among the various offices that contribute to the overall success of the United States Submarine Force.

Serco is seeking a high-energy individual to support the Submarine Safety and Quality Assurance Division (SEA07Q) at Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), located in the Washington Navy Yard, Washington, DC.

In the Data Metrics Analyst role, you will:

  • Provide management, direction, and administration for the collection, validation, holistic analysis, and reporting of program data.
  • Identify, collect, analyze, and extract key data and information from NAVSEA database systems and other SharePoint sites.
  • Design and create datasets in Excel to track division activities.
  • Collaborate with team members and NAVSEA clients to collect and analyze data.
  • Perform extract, transform, and load (ETL) from NAVSEA audit files and conduct statistical analysis through Excel.
  • Utilize Excel pivot table, charts, and formulas to create metrics reports associated with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for internal assessments.
  • Use tools such as Power BI and Microsoft Excel to create data visualization as needed.
  • Support NAVSEA database development, and resolution of issues.
  • Work under general supervision -- typically report to a supervisor or manager.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, such as computer science, information technology, mathematics, or statistics.
  • Up to two (2) years of experience with Navy acquisition and Submarine Programs.
  • Must have a current or active DoD Secret clearance, or the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.
  • Solid Microsoft Excel experience, to include importing reports to Excel and applying lookup tables and formulas for analysis.
  • Problem solving and documentation skills.
  • Committed to personal learning and continuous improvement, freely communicating ideas, and seeking the best overall output.
  • Highly organized with an emphasis on attention to detail, timeliness, and accuracy.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Desired experience and skills:

  • Work experience with the Navy and specifically within Team Submarine or submarines in general.
  • Prior experience with Submarine Safety and Quality Assurance.

If you are ready to take the next step in applying your technical and collaborative skills to a rewarding career path, apply today!
