Looking for an TSS Network Engineer opportunity at a place you can make a difference every day?  Join Serco in support of our Defense Service sector and Systems Integration and Installation Business Unit as a TSS Network Engineer within the Tactical Afloat Networks Program Office (PMW 160). This role will support the Tactical Networks (TACNET) Capabilities Based In Service Engineering Agent (CB-ISEA). TACNET CB-ISEA supports the sustainment and modernization of Automated Digital Network System (ADNS), Consolidated Afloat Network and Enterprise Services (CANES), Combined Enterprise Regional Information Exchange System (CENTRIXS), Integration Shipboard Networking System (ISNS), Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Networks as well as integration and support of additional Program of Record and Non-Program or Record systems. 

 

In this position, you will:

  • Provide break/fix Information Technology support in a fast paced, high-energy environment.
  • Analyze issues in an Enterprise LAN shipboard and shore environments to determine the best course of action for resolution.
  • Provide root cause analysis and recommending permanent configuration changes when necessary.
  • Work in cooperation with external partners, including consultants, agencies, and vendors, to troubleshoot intra-system issues, and to assist with system integration design solutions.
  • Provide server break-fix and provide remote support for server, network, desktop, and peripheral equipment.
  • Interface and direct US Navy Customers regarding the proper approach to maintaining US Navy Afloat networks and the associated network components supporting data, voice and/or audio communication activities.
  • Attend and participate in technical meetings, report on technical progress, prepare briefs, and provide presentations.
  • Participate in integrated product teams and engineering/design reviews.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:      

  • An active DoD Secret Clearance.
  • US Citizenship.
  • Bachelors degree and five (5) years or more of related experience; or seven (7) years of experience and a high school diploma may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • Current CompTIA Security+ certification. 
  • Must be able to become IAT II certified within 6 months of higher date. ITA II certification includes a minimum of one additional certification (e.g., CCNA, MCSA, MCSE, Linux+, VCP).
  • Ability to travel, equal to approximately 25%, both CONUS and OCONUS, underway on U.S. Navy ships. 
  • Must hold valid US passport.
  • The ability to travel, equal to approximately 25%, both CONUS and OCONUS, underway on U.S. Navy ships, and some off hours on-call support.
