Senior Technical Advisor - Cybersecurity (Lead) FSET2023-56330San Diego, CaliforniaJoin Serco in support of the Fleet Systems Engineering Team – known as the FSET.   This is a San Diego, CA based position supporting Navy Information Warfare Systems Command (NAVWAR) Fleet Readiness Directorate (FRD). The FSET program facilitates the effective operation of all NAVWAR afloat and ashore C4I systems throughout the entire Operational Fleet Readiness Plan (OFRP) cycle.  The FSET program is responsible to supply senior technical advisors and system engineers that provide end-to-end C4I systems engineering support to all Numbered Fleet Command ships, Carrier and Expeditionary Strike Groups (CSGs, ESGs), Amphibious Ready Groups and at global locations that support forward deployed Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) ships throughout each OFRP phase. The FSET program provides systems engineering and technical support for the rapid introduction of new capabilities into the Fleet through fleet experimentation and operational fleet exercises in-port and underway. FSET program support is focused on OFRP phases that start at initial workup through deployment, and during maintenance and upkeep periods. FSET engineers also provide technical C4I and systems engineering support services to Shore facilities. Fleet Systems Engineers (FSE) conduct on-site troubleshooting and maintenance assistance for problems that cross multiple Navy Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) systems, provide over-the-shoulder training, and assist Fleet customers with executing various system-of-systems technical processes. FSEs also observe C4I system performance and provide critical feedback regarding computer network defense status and to ensure Navy C4I systems are expeditiously restored in the event of system malfunction, attack, cyber-attack, or other system impacting incident. The duties include attending meetings on the PM or DPM’s behalf and taking notes, leading, and implementing various strategic planning processes across the program and providing leadership members with important programmatic information to prepare them for upcoming meetings or presentations.  To be successful as a Chief of Staff, you must have strong leadership and problem-solving skills to assist with the daily operation of the program office. The COS regularly works with team members of all levels, so strongly developed written and verbal communication skills are crucial. The COS is responsible for improving the efficiency of the program office and also managing the time of the PM and DPM, so time management skills in organization and planning to prioritize tasks, set meetings and diffuse work conflict without bringing it to the attention of the PM and DPM is critical. The program is a major defense acquisition program and is of significant political importance with Congress and the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD).The acquisition of New Construction Submarines and for identifying, assembling, managing, directing, and coordinating the resources required for the R&D, design, construction, Test and Evaluation (T&E), Live Fire Test and Evaluation (LFT&E), and Fleet introduction of the U.S. Navy’s newest class of nuclear attack submarines. The program is a major defense acquisition program with a total life cycle cost of approximately $336B. Additionally, successful improvement of the Class' capabilities is of significant political importance with Congress and the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD).The SSN(X) Office is responsible for the acquisition and design of the future fast attack submarine and for identifying, assembling, managing, directing, and coordinating the resources required for the R&D, design, construction, Test and Evaluation (T&E) and Live Fire Test and Evaluation (LFT&E) of the future submarine. The future Attack Submarine will be designed to retain multi-mission capability and sustained combat presence in denied waters with a focus on greater speed, stealth, and horizontal payloads and salvo rates. You must have an Active Secret clearance to be considered. Serco supports the US Navy as a prime for their Team Submarine contract supporting the acquisition of submarines. The Team Submarine concept unifies once diverse submarine-related activities into a single submarine-centric organization with the goal of eliminating traditional stovepipe structures and processes that created impediments and inefficiencies in the submarine research, development, acquisition, and maintenance communities. Team Submarine provides improved communication among the various offices that contribute to the overall success of the United States Submarine Force.  Serco-NA is seeking a motivated individual to provide programmatic support to one of our NAVSEA customers.  Serco-NA has an opening for an Engineering Department Liaison and Mentor with submarine expertise to support an active contract with the U.S. Navy in the Groton, CT area.  General Duties- Support PMS 450C at Electric Boat Shipyard in Groton Connecticut, Deputy Chief of Staff for Material and Readiness at Submarine Group TWO and Pre-Commissioning submarine Crews.- Be part of a team providing functional and advisory mentorship to New Construction VIRGINIA Class Submarines leveraging prior experience and familiarity with submarine new construction processes, and crew training and certification requirements.- Liaison between Supervisor of Shipbuilding at both Electric Boat and Newport News, prime contractors, Program Executive Office – Submarines, and other key stakeholders for new construction submarine crew support and readiness.- Support building, training, and mentoring new construction submarine Crews from the ground up.- Mentor and support leadership in developing submarine Crew processes for effective training, personnel qualification, maintenance, and operation.
