  Serco is looking for a Shipyard Welder III team member to join a high-profile and challenging project supporting the US Navy.  The Shipyard Welder III will be on a dynamic team, supporting our C5ISR system installations.  Bring your expertise and collaborative skills to make an impact towards our military defense and safety of our Sailors.You will be part of a team that works !closely with the customer and other Serco team members to deliver high technology performed onboard U.S. Naval Ships and military installations.  This position will be based in Bremerton, WA.   In this role, you will:- Interpret specifications, drawings, blueprints, shop job orders and, process sheets.- Use a variety of ARC and gas welding equipment to fabricate or repair products such as foundations, cable collars, cable/pipe/vent hangers, cable tubes penetrations, studs, etc.- Perform related task such as thermal cutting (PLASMA or TORCH) and grinding.- Have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.- Assign work to qualified personnel.- Train new shop personnel on machinery, tools and test equipment required for quality construction of products.- Work onboard U.S. Naval Ships and military installations in an area that is somewhat uncomfortable due to drafts, noise, temperature variation and the like and with equipment.

Serco supports the RSNF as a subcontractor on a commercial contract providing naval vessel life-cycle sustainment, including planning yard functions, maintenance, procurement services, and training.  Our management staff includes individuals with over 35 years of military and industry experience, including working with domestic and foreign defense and security customers.  We welcome talent with skillsets acquired from commercial and defense activities.  In this role, you will:- Be responsible for electrical system maintenance planning, estimating, and work package development for the RSNF MMSC.- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for MMSC electrical systems as required for the development of related work items.- Verify work item technical manual references.- Communicate with maintenance personnel, project management, and procurement specialists.- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external organizations.
