Are you interested in a position in the environmental field? We are currently seeking a Field Scientist/Chemist for our Environmental Laboratory in Athens, GA. The position involves field testing and support to our air quality and performance standards group. The associate is to perform established air testing and analyses in support of the US EPA Office of Air Quality and Performance Standards. The associate performs field air testing PM2.5 PEP and NPAP audits throughout all 8 southeastern states. Efforts have emphasis on particulate monitoring and gaseous criteria pollutants (O3, CO, SO2, NOs) requiring support from PEP/NPAP-certified field scientists. Certification will be obtained through on the job training and attendance at an annual certification training conference. The applicant should anticipate field audits typically include travel with overnight and per diem weekly throughout the year for 2-5 days (with overnights)/event for each trip. The applicant should also anticipate travel (including automobile or airfare and ground transportation) with overnight and per diem for an annual 4-day recertification training/conference.He/she is responsible for the accurate and timely input of all audit and client information into the PED Database including any specific client requirements. We will provide the ideal candidate with on-the-job training. If you love high profile and challenging programing projects supporting the US Navy- Serco has a great opportunity for you!  This UUV Systems Engineer will be on a dynamic team, programing undersea systems engineering at our Newport, RI location.  Bring your expertise and collaborative skills to make an impact toward our military defense and safety of our sailors. This position is contingent upon your ability to maintain/transfer your Secret clearance . Serco supports the US Navy as a prime for the Autonomous Maritime Systems Test Center (AMSTC) Engineering and Technical Services contract which supports defense work on Unmanned Underwater Vehicles (UUVs).  Our team upgrades, maintains and manages the hardware and software systems of multiple UUV platforms to ensure the safety of the sailors and to allow them to perform their missions successfully. You will be part of a 10-12-member team that works closely with the customer and other Serco teams to deliver quality systems. Robert Connerney (https://www.linkedin.com/in/robert-connerney-00436810b/) leads this team with over 39 years’ experience.  The team has been recognized by the Navy and the industry for their outstanding contributions to the contract and program. In this role, you will: - Support the development, operation, and maintenance of a variety of complex technology systems applicable to UUV’s. - Participate in at sea and bench testing of UUV systems- Design, engineer, assemble, fabricate, and integrate prototype electrical and mechanical systems, sub-systems, circuitry, and associated interfacing hardware for multiple UUV platform elements.- Participate in the integration of systems, processes, and methodologies to ensure the performance of the total system.- Support senior technical level personnel and program managers in the planning, oversight, and execution of complex and advanced projects related to UUV technical systems development. - Prepares and reviews input to major technical reports, status reports, letters, technical memoranda, contract reports and formal briefings.- Complies with applicable quality and security procedures in the performance of duties.
