The Antenna Range Technician will select or adapt standard procedures or equipment, using fully applicable precedents. In this role, you will:- Environmental Stress Screen (ESS) Testing- Receive initial instructions, equipment requirements, and advice from supervisor or engineer as needed.- Perform recurring work independently; work is reviewed for technical adequacy or conformity with instructions.- Perform at this level one or a combination of such typical duties as: Constructs components, subunits, or simple models or adapts standard equipment.- May troubleshoot and correct malfunctions.- Follow specific layout and scientific diagrams to construct and package simple devices and subunits of equipment.- Conduct various tests or experiments which may require minor modifications in test setups or procedures as well as subjective judgments in measurement; selects, sets up, and operates standard test equipment and records test data.- Extract and compile a variety of engineering data from field notes, manuals, lab reports, etc..- Process data, identifying errors or inconsistencies; selects methods of data presentation.- Assist in design modification by compiling data related to design, specifications, and materials which are pertinent to specific items of equipment or component parts.- Develop information concerning previous operational failures and modifications.- Use judgment and initiative to recognize inconsistencies or gaps in data and seek sources to clarify information.

If you seek a rewarding, high profile and challenging position supporting projects for the US Navy- Serco has a great opportunity for you!  The FMS Senior Combat Systems Engineer provides naval ship and systems engineering expertise, advice, and professional judgment for the modernization, repair, and sustainment of former USN, USCG, and foreign naval vessels.  This position is contingent upon your ability to maintain/transfer your current Secret level clearance. In this role, you will:- Provide combat systems engineering support to technical support projects and ship repair availabilities under the auspices of Foreign Military Sales programs executed by Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA)- Lead combat systems engineer providing naval ship combat system expertise for modernization, repair and sustainment of customer country ships- Responsible for the design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems- Recommend alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures- Assist in writing technical documents and reports on shipboard Combat Systems- Perform analysis, development, evaluation, and planning - Review proposed ship configuration changes and provide recommendations- Comply with applicable quality and security procedures in the performance of duties- Provide recommendations to improve existing quality systems and applicable procedures and guidelines- Participate in the development and review of ship repair specifications and Ship Alteration and Repair Packages (SARP)- Participate in production meetings with customer country, NAVSEA, and shipyard as needed- Provide subject matter expertise and input to integrated master ship repair schedules- Advise logistics personnel on the specifications and performance requirements for ship repair material and parts as required- Provide subject matter expertise and input to production / training / logistics schedules, condition reports, weekly SITREPs, material receipt/inspection reports, training reports, incident reports, and test reports- Research technical problems with Navy hull, machinery & electrical systems and provide recommendations for corrective actions in accordance with Navy guidance and policy.- Review technical drawings, schematics, policies, procedures related U.S. Navy ship systems- Research and analyze systemic problems recommending possible solutions based on experience and documentation- Respond to emergent international fleet technical requirements- Analyze departures from specifications and provide recommendations- Provide subject matter expertise and input to ensure adherence to local, state, federal and OSHA safety laws and policies- Provide subject matter expertise on projects from inception through completion - Perform engineering design evaluations- Review work for quality assurance- Participate in long-range planning, analysis, and program design- Participate in the planning and design of new projects- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
