You will be expected to bring your expertise and collaborative skills to make an impact towards our military defense and safety of our sailors. In the role of the Internal Communications/Navigation Systems Engineer, you will:- Provide expertise, support, and analysis for Internal Communication (IC)/Navigation (NAV) Systems and Gigabit Ethernet Data Multiplex System (GEDMS).- Coordinate Combat Systems events and tests for Acceptance Trials, Final Contract Trials, and Post-Shakedown Availability (PSA) planning activities.- Provide combat systems programmatic, engineering, and technical assistance; participate in Navigation IPT; Navigation Radar Reviews; and track land based, and underway test events and trials related to IC/NAV.- Compile and analyze reports related to shipboard inspections, certifications, assessments, and sea trials.- Coordinate and support the resolution of specific issues within the technical community and maintain direct interface with Participating Acquisition Resource Managers (PARM).- “Be familiar” with US Navy shipboard operations, particularly IC/NAV systems supporting underway operations.- Provide technical review, analysis, and oversight for proposed IC/NAV system changes such as ICPs, ECPs, and SHIPALTs to determine technical and programmatic impacts.- Provide direct support researching, planning, evaluating, coordinating, and executing test/trial activities for IC/NAV systems. - Interface with multiple stakeholders and cross functional teams to ensure necessary resources are available for implementing and sustaining ship IC/NAV systems.
